Purpose, Sustainability and Impact

The research platforms on purpose, sustainability, and impact explore multiple dimensions of sustainability, focusing on the alignment between strategic purpose, values, and goals; sustainable business models including circular economy and biodiversity protection; the intersection of digital transformation and sustainability; and the role of impact finance. Some platforms and observatories also concentrate on specific sectors, such as agri-food.

Food Sustainability (DI)

This Observatory aims to make a tangible contribution to the sustainable transformation of the agrifood system through research, awareness-raising, and dissemination activities. It focuses on the role of innovation in sustainability, especially within the circular economy framework for agrifood, and on promoting more inclusive and sustainable supply chain models. Its work is carried out in close collaboration with agrifood companies, trade associations, non-profits, startups, and public institutions.

Technology Innovation & REsearch for Social ImpAct (TIRESIA)

Tiresia is a Knowledge centre founded in 2013 to bridge technological and social impact innovation, becoming a leading reference in Italy and Europe for the development of the impact economy. Through academic research, university education, and the application of innovative tools and methods, Tiresia supports the various players in the impact economy ecosystem and promotes knowledge transfer with a forward-thinking, critical, and transformative perspective.

Digital & Sustainable (DI)

This Observatory aims to generate and share insights on the sustainability opportunities and risks associated with digital technologies. It does so through evidence-based research and by fostering open, independent dialogue.

Biodiversity (ISF)

The Observatory aims to develop tools, methodologies, and knowledge to assess and reduce the impact of businesses on biodiversity. It emphasizes the critical importance of embedding biodiversity protection into innovation strategies.

Circular Economy (E&S)

This Observatory explores the circular economy as a model for regenerative growth. It monitors policy developments at the European, national, and regional levels and analyzes the key drivers and barriers influencing the adoption of circular practices across various industrial sectors.

Purpose in action (ISF)

This Observatory explores how organizations define and implement their purpose – their reason for being – as a strategic driver that aligns goals, values, and decision-making.
